With poor maintenance, gutters can easily become clogged with leaves and other debris. We always recommend that you inspect and clear them in both spring and autumn. You also may have to loosen dirt that has blown into the gutters and scrub them with a stiff brush. Flushing gutters with a stream of water from a hose will clear material that has become lodged in the downspouts.

 

Our recommendation is to have one of our professionals come and inspect your gutter system to have a Leaf Relief or Gutter Guard installed. Having one of these systems installed, reduces both the time and energy required for yearly maintenance. It will also reduce costly damages and repairs to your gutter system on your home. Also check your gutter system for rust, flaking, or peeling paint, and leaks, and make sure they are affixed tightly. If you notice damage, it is recommended to have a specialist come out to asses the damage and recommend a repair plan.
